Public Speaking is the solo project of Brooklyn sound artist and songwriter Jason Anthony Harris. He uses voice, objects, and electronics, as well as traditional instrumentation to make soulful noise music. Harris balances adventurous methods with an intimate compositional aesthetic. He has released material on Fabrica Records, Tape Drift, Already Dead Tapes, and Floordoor Records.
Matteo Liberatore is a boundary-pushing guitarist and composer from Italy, living in Brooklyn, NY. His avant-garde style explores the crossroads of free improvisation, contemporary classical music and noise using guitar and electronics. Matteo's current solo project draws from his early experience of life in America - the rawness of a world where incredible art and expression flourish alongside money market-driven politics and where tense capitalistic ambition reigns supreme. Matteo’s sound and performance is abstract... deconstructing sound, expectations and beauty in form.
Megan Moncrief makes videos, installations, and prints, and plays music and noise as Lazurite (her solo project) with an ever-evolving bunch of collaborators and co-conspirators. Her sounds have been released by Fabrica Records, Whatever Forever, Buh Records Peru, Ilse Music, Boo Tapes,Obsolete Units, Crumb Dicks, and her own label Popular Chant (still in its infancy). She is involved with the LOXM - Ladies of Experimental Music collective, and was director and curator of the now-defunct Brewer's Mansion Gallery.
A brand new project from Brooklyn locals Sophie Chernin (Madam West) and Jennae Santos (Wsabi Fox, BIG FIGMENT), Yaas Haus is "EDM performed by two humans who have never liked or listened to EDM." The duo builds live loops with guitar, vocals, percussion, room sounds and audience contributions as their primary media.
Snaykhunt is the music project of Kate Henderson/Thermos Unigarde, a drummer and electronic musician performing solo as well as with RAFT/Pat Noecker, K0Ks (with Megan Moncreif of Lazurite) and Limax Maximus (with Robert Pepper of Pas Musique). Henderson is the founder of LOXM, a series curating female experimental projects, and writes for Tom Tom Magazine.
RAFT is the sound and music exploration of Pat Noecker. He has been exploring composition through IOS apps and the potentiality of crowd-sourced collage since 2012. He employs the cell phone, text messaging, loopers and electronics in order to create his particular brand of “audience-generated” sonic architecture. Noecker has performed as a member of Liars, These Are Powers, n0 things and with Janka Nabay and the Bubu Gang.
