BLAINE TODD Blaine Todd is a self-taught songwriter and improviser based in San Francisco. His solo work intersects minimalist and country music and deals with a variety of themes all of which are funneled into an investigation into the conflicting nature between objective and subjective realities. His work is deeply influenced by literature and an affinity for American experimentalism. His recorded work tends toward a lo-fi, bedroom-recorded sound with a focus on lyrical content and often features guitars, finger picked or played in any number of non-traditional ways, against a droning backdrop. In addition to his solo work, he plays in Common Eider, King Eider; Andrew Weathers Ensemble; Ecstatic Music Band; and the Real Life Rock & Roll Band. https://blaine-todd.bandcamp.com/
MUYASSAR KURDI Muyassar Kurdi is a Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist. Her work encompasses sound, extended vocal technique, performance art, movement, photography, and film. She has toured extensively in the U.S. and throughout Europe. A versatile improviser, Muyassar has composed and performed music for voice, harmonium, piano, lyre, autoharp, and theremin in both solo and collaborative environments. She currently focuses her attention to interweaving homemade electronic instruments and sculpture into her vocal and dance performances, stirring a plethora of emotions from her audience members through vicious noise, ritualistic chants, and meditative movements. CJ BOYD Bassist turned vagabond C.J. Boyd uses bass loops and voices in order to try and stop time. On perpetual tour since March 2008, movement and stasis are both at the center of his music. Weaving together improvisation with a sparse, minimalist aesthetic, Boyd creates waves of sound, worlds of provocative unlived memories through a singular approach to the upright bass and electric bass guitar that makes everything near and far. http://cjboyd.bandcamp.com/
ARIANA VAN GELDER Ariana van Gelder is an experimental composer and theoretical physicist living in Brooklyn. Her current practice revolves around live vocal loops and semi-improvised compositions, as well as scores and sound installation for video, sculpture, and interactive virtual works. Along with voice, she also composes music for piano, prepared violin, bowed glockenspiel, pressure-driven mylar sculpture, and just about anything else that makes sound. Fabrica Records is a Brooklyn, NY - based independent music label that focuses on documenting and promoting the work of experimental musicians. The label was born in 2010 and initially focused on releasing limited edition cassettes by local musicians. We have since expanded into releasing music on vinyl, compact disc and digital download. Some of the artist we have worked with include, Robert Turman, Eric Hardiman (Rambutan), Dane Patterson, Insect Factory, Megan Moncrief (Lazurite), David First, Public Speaking, Ecstatic Music Band, among others.
