SCREENING
EAT WHEN YOU’RE HUNGRY (2019, SHORT ANIMATED FILM, 20 MINUTES, FIRST LOOK)
A mostly true portrait of Malcolm, a modern American young-person raised on TV and McDonalds, juxtaposed with the story of his grandma, Lola, a strong and loud lady who immigrated to the U.S. in the 1970’s after surviving off eating newspaper in the Philippines for 30 years.
Written and directed by the duo Hotdog Sandwich (Malcolm Rizzuto & Spencer Garrison), EAT WHEN YOU’RE HUNGRY is a follow-up to the 2015 animated short FAT PANTS (Vimeo Staff Pick, Indie Memphis Film Festival). Dances With Dogs will be a look at the first cut of the film after Kickstarting it in August of 2018.
SCENES FROM ‘OTHER MUSIC’ (2019 Tribeca Film Festival selection)
OTHER MUSIC is a feature-length documentary about the iconic NYC record store directed by directing/producing team Rob Hatch-Miller and Puloma Basu (Syl Johnson: Any Way The Wind Blows). The film chronicles the store’s 20-year history, featuring bands such as Animal Collective, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, the Strokes, Interpol, TV On The Radio, Anohni , and more. As retail stores continue to disappear, the film is an example of how the community and spirit of one much-loved independent record store lives on.
Hotdog Sandwich will be screening select scenes from the movie ahead of it’s Tribeca premiere to showcase various animated segments they contributed to the film.
